Monkey Gym Schaffhausen: Website and Trial Session Booking
We replaced Monkey Gym Schaffhausen’s old WordPress site with a static website built on Astro and Tailwind CSS. The site displays training schedules and prices clearly, with trial session signups processed via an n8n workflow that creates tasks in the gym’s to-do system and notifies external trainers by email.

Background
Monkey Gym is a martial arts gym on Talstrasse in Schaffhausen offering classes in K1, kickboxing, Muay Thai, sparring, and youth training. Their previous website ran on WordPress. The site was slow on mobile devices, and trial session requests arrived as plain emails that coaches had to handle manually.
The goal was straightforward: give visitors immediate access to training hours and membership costs, and let them book a trial session online without back-and-forth emails.
Structure and Layout
Schedules and pricing at a glance
The design uses a dark layout matching the gym, with yellow highlights for schedule tags and buttons. Key details sit right on the homepage without requiring visitors to hunt through menus.
A weekly timetable outlines classes from Monday through Friday along with age groups and skill levels. The pricing page shows monthly dues for adults, women, and children, as well as student discounts.
- Dark, high-contrast theme built for mobile reading
- Weekly schedule covering all classes and age groups
- Clear monthly rates with no hidden contract clauses
- Gym address, transit directions, and parking notes in the footer
Trial Session Workflow with n8n
Automated to-do tasks and email alerts for external trainers
Instead of a generic contact form, client-side JavaScript calculates valid training slots for the current and following week. Past dates and classes starting within four hours are automatically excluded.
Submitting the form triggers an n8n automation workflow: Each trial session signup creates a task in the to-do system used by the gym to organize training sessions and equipment, keeping coaches informed of new participants.
In addition, the workflow notifies external trainers via email whenever a trial attendee books their specific session. The prospective member simultaneously receives a confirmation email with gym directions and a packing checklist.
Technical Setup
The site is built with Astro as static HTML and CSS. Because there is no server-side database or CMS runtime, pages load in under 300 milliseconds on mobile connections and need minimal server maintenance.
Results
The site launched within two weeks. With automated slot selection, task creation inside the coaching to-do system, and direct email alerts for external trainers, the gym eliminated manual scheduling before sessions.
